Hello, I am an engineer who has spent 20 years deliberately working across domains — electronics, FPGAs, DSP, embedded software, web applications and more recently AI systems, finding that the interesting problems usually live at the integration between disciplines.

Gravitating toward FPGA work early in my career it was noticed that it can be difficult for hardware engineers needing to use software development tools, and for software engineers needing understand hardware implementations, and competence in both is valuable. FPGA development is still a core strength, but I've kept building outward from there for years.

Recently, I spent four years as a contractor — primarily with three companies plus smaller engagements — then took one of those clients on as an employer for a period. I have since returned to independent practice, focusing on project based work. Modern AI tooling means complex work can often be delivered in shorter, well-defined engagements with clear milestones.
